Farrah Marfatia
Manager of Policy and Programs
Muslim Association of Canada
Educator. Problem solver. Civic leader. Farrah Marfatia is someone who is constantly shaping the minds of others. As Manager of Policy and Programming at the Muslim Association of Canada (MAC), Farrah develops and oversees the strategy, curriculum, policy and operations for nine full-time schools, four childcare centres, 16 community centres and 20 part-time schools across Canada, directly impacting 44,000 lives annually. But at the core of Farrah’s work is the fight against Islamophobia, most notably developing an art therapy workshop for young people coping with bullying, racism and exclusion. In addition to being a busy mother of three in Toronto’s Meadowvale neighbourhood, Farrah regularly flexes her creative muscles as a writer, painter and comic artist under the pseudonym @GrittyHijabi on Instagram.
